Shelagh is a “local lass” and describes herself as “Borders through and through”. She set up her own private accountancy practice after graduating from Borders College in Galashiels and earned her spurs in the cut throat numbers game. After being contracted to Panton McLeod on a short-term assignment in 1995 the company soon realised what her tenacious and sagacious approach to making and spending money could do for its business – and the relationship has proved mutually beneficial ever since. Shelagh revolutionised the company's financial, administrative and personnel affairs and it wasn't long before she was appointed to the board.
